Weekend Bookseller (Sundays)

We are on the search for a bookseller to join our small team in covering our busy Sundays in the shop!

Job description:

  • Selling books and making recommendations

  • Answering emails and in-person customer enquiries

  • Making coffee and serving drinks

  • Entering new books into stock and displaying them in the shop

  • Daily upkeep tasks and restocking

  • Potentially assisting at book events and festival bookshops

Essential Requirements:

  • Retail experience

  • Passion for books

  • Excellent customer service

  • Google drive/spreadsheet proficiency

  • Attention to detail

  • Some rota flexibility (you will usually work Sundays but there could be opportunities for extra shifts during staff holiday, pop-ups and events).

Bonuses:

  • Barista experience

  • Bar experience

Hours: One 7 hour weekend day shift per week (this will predominantly be a Sunday)

Pay: Begins at £11.50 per hour

Bonus bits: Cost price books, beer and wine + access to lots of proofs!

Festival Baristas

We are on the search for baristas to join our festival team at
Latitude Festival and Wilderness Festival this summer.

The role is for energetic, team players who know their coffee! The role will involve:

  • Daily set-up and upkeep of machine

  • Making coffees (from Americanos to lattes, cappuccinos and macchiatos…)
    Incl oat milk + dairy.

  • Maintaining clean working space

  • Cleaning machine down

  • Restocking 

Essential Requirements:

  • Barista experience

  • Excellent customer service

  • Attention to detail

Bonuses:

  • Festival experience/working without plumbing!

  • DIY skills (option to help with bookshop construction)

Henham Park, Suffolk

Pay: £12.00 per hour and full accreditation for the festival included.

Transport: Please note, we are not able to arrange full transport to site but can collect booksellers/baristas from nearby Halesworth station (Latitude) or Charlbury train station (Wilderness), if arriving by public transport.

Hours: Changeable depending on how busy we are - baristas tend to average between 20-30 hours over the 4 days.
