Pure Colour - Sheila Heti

At its heart ‘Pure Colour’ is about the relationship between Mira and her father, her lover Annie, and how she copes with losing her father. Yet it expands to ruminate upon romantic love and grief, the making of art and the unmaking of the world. Sheila Heti creates the equivalent of an impressionist painting, inviting the reader to meet her halfway in establishing meaning. Heti has created an absurdly funny guide to the great (and terrible) things about being alive. It is truly breathtaking.
