The Expansion Project - Ben Pester
Plans to expand Capmeadow Business Park are well underway, with one ambitious goal: to become the region’s premier business park. But when Tom Crowley, a mid-level employee, loses his daughter during "Bring Your Daughter to Work Day," the event takes a dark turn. Alarms are raised, colleagues mobilize—but no trace of the girl can be found.
Soon, a disturbing truth emerges: she was never there. And yet, Tom can’t shake the feeling that something is wrong. Despite reassurances, he keeps searching—through the endless corridors and strange, shifting architecture of his workplace.
Because Capmeadow is expanding in ways no blueprint could predict. As reality frays, a harried Liaison Officer becomes the lightning rod for employee complaints: sudden structures appearing overnight, business days that last for years, and a surreal workplace draining the life from Tom and his colleagues. Years slip by. Tom remains at Capmeadow, haunted by the belief that his now-grown daughter is still somewhere within its depths, just out of reach. But is she truly there? Has he simply lost his grip? And can anything ever return to what it once was?
