Starting in the 1700s and travelling through to the present day, Bass Rock, seamlessly weaves the lives and choices of three women, all bound and influenced by the men in their lives, to create a triad of sisterhood. Beautifully written, and despite its almost Gothic sense of sadness and violence, fundamentally a tale of people and their ties to the place we call home.
